The purpose of this page is to challenge me to open my eyes and truly see the world which surrounds me. So often we trudge though our daily routine, too busy or preoccupied to notice the little miracles happening all around us. I hope to capture, through the lens of a camera, glimpses of my sometimes mundane but glorious little world. I will attempt to post one snapshot each day to share with you. Enjoy!

I've been trying to get a good shot of these two for the invitation for their Eagle Court of Honor. I really wanted to use one of them spiffed up in their uniforms because they look so sharp. This is more their style though... just off the water, wet, happy and full of life!

Okay.... it's not mine, but it sure does look festive!  With a move looming in January, finding renters for the main house, fixing up our vacation apartment and getting ready for incoming visitors I'm finding it difficult to get into the holiday mindset.  But while strolling through the neighborhood I came upon Wilma relaxing on her Christmas front lanai enjoying the cooling evening air.  It was nice to sit for a few minutes, chat and take in a quiet evening moment.

I have no idea what kind of plant this one is, but I love the red on the rim.  I'm not sure if that thick meaty part is called a leaf or a stem, but it's pretty and very soft... unlike the cactus plants in the background!

Just another friend in the back yard coming over to say hello when I was checking on the growth of the new grass.

Phew!  I bought a live wreath this year (from the Boy Scouts!) and hung it up right away.  That means I'm about halfway finished with my holiday decorating.  All that's left is the tree.  And that's fake!

So... their haircuts are just a bit shorter than what I would normally do or want for them, but the hair was so matted the groomer HAD to go to this length.  The good thing is, it's hair rather than fur and will grow out quickly.  Or at least enough to do the family photo for Christmas in a few weeks!  In the meantime, they're shaking and shivering but not bothering to remove the Christmas bow leis on their collars.

Anyone willing to venture a guess as to where we'll be going next?  This makes it official... I think.
