The purpose of this page is to challenge me to open my eyes and truly see the world which surrounds me. So often we trudge though our daily routine, too busy or preoccupied to notice the little miracles happening all around us. I hope to capture, through the lens of a camera, glimpses of my sometimes mundane but glorious little world. I will attempt to post one snapshot each day to share with you. Enjoy!

These things are called Moths. I'm not yet sure what they are made from or how they work, but I'm hoping to find out soon! These guys were speeding (no joke, about 50 mph!) around the bay all day today.

The boys call this "Anger Management" in the backyard. They're getting so big, I know these sessions are going to end with a 'not so quick' trip to the emergency room.....

We finally got a full day of sunshine and light(er) winds. Someone was taking advantage of the optimal weather conditions.

This is another location I frequent. Not necessarily the public loo per say (although I have visited the particular one a few times!), but the Honolulu airport. I love these fun signs they've put up to make visitors really feel as if they're in a tropical location with an exotic language!

I frequent the commissary a minimum of 4 times per week. My husband says I start exhibiting withdrawal symptoms if I haven't visited one for 3 days. I hate shopping malls, but I could spend hours in a grocery store!

The necessary clean up after an awesome day of snorkeling at Hanauma Bay yesterday. We got home so late last night (dinner out in Waikiki) that the process had to wait until this afternoon.... and for the rain to let up.

Jordan made cupcakes (from scratch, no less!) yesterday afternoon. In passing this morning, I commented on her highly nutritious breakfast... one red velvet cupcake with whipped butter frosting and fresh raspberries on top. Her immediate quip..."It's not much different than the pain au chocolat, Nutella crepes and chocolat chaud we had for petit dejeuner EVERY morning while living in Belgium."
Point taken. Eat away.

A testing day for the boys, sister is home for Spring Break.... we all need to let off some steam at Hilltop beach! The waves were awesome, the sun was hot and the breeze was very cool. Another perfect day here in Hawaii!

We don't have parades or an ice cream truck in our neighborhood but a Howitzer static display is kind of cool! It's just a bit different than the average neighborhood. Gotta love the Marines! Happy (belated) St. Barbara's Day and St. Patrick's Day!

A common scene in our lives..... this time we're saying fair winds and following seas to our neighbors and friends the Caputo family. Good-byes don't seem to be getting any easier.

The bougainvillea grows like a weed here. It's similar to ivy in the Pacific Northwest in that it choked out other native species. It is very beautiful though.
