The purpose of this page is to challenge me to open my eyes and truly see the world which surrounds me. So often we trudge though our daily routine, too busy or preoccupied to notice the little miracles happening all around us. I hope to capture, through the lens of a camera, glimpses of my sometimes mundane but glorious little world. I will attempt to post one snapshot each day to share with you. Enjoy!

I took this on the way back from the beach. I've seen this type of bumble bee flying around for a while now, but just never had the opportunity to get off a few shots. I think it's called the Black Bumble Bee. He's very large, about 1.5 inches long, and interested only in gathering pollen. He didn't seem to be bothered by me or my camera getting up close and personal with him. That's good because bees and their stingers make me a bit nervous. It stems from a run-in with some not so distant relations in the not so distant past.....
