The purpose of this page is to challenge me to open my eyes and truly see the world which surrounds me. So often we trudge though our daily routine, too busy or preoccupied to notice the little miracles happening all around us. I hope to capture, through the lens of a camera, glimpses of my sometimes mundane but glorious little world. I will attempt to post one snapshot each day to share with you. Enjoy!

Pumpkin patches in Hawaii?  Yes, we do have them on the islands, but most of the good pumpkins have been picked and taken to the markets already.  So instead of trudging around in red clay mud just to find (and pay too much!) for undesirable, partially decomposed gourds trying to pass as a pumpkin we went to the base commissary.  Their stock was pretty low as well.  The trio had a difficult inspecting the bunch until the bigger, stronger brothers decided to hoist the smallest (youngest and less likely to put up a fight) brother into the bins for a close look.  Sam did his job well and found three suitable, fresh globes that will make the perfect jack-o-lanterns sometime next week.  I'm sure we'll see more of this story.....
