The purpose of this page is to challenge me to open my eyes and truly see the world which surrounds me. So often we trudge though our daily routine, too busy or preoccupied to notice the little miracles happening all around us. I hope to capture, through the lens of a camera, glimpses of my sometimes mundane but glorious little world. I will attempt to post one snapshot each day to share with you. Enjoy!

November 2, 2011

After dropping the boys off for sailing this morning, I decided to take the long road out toward the back gate to go home.   Wouldn't you know.... there was traffic.  But wait, it's some of our Marines on a regular patrol exercise.  They were coming from the Fort Hase Beach Trail.  Not your everyday walk on the beach.   For my friends who live on base, this is nothing new.... in fact, it's probably a daily sight.  This could have been one of those silent exercises because not a word was spoken or a sound uttered as they approached me.  Within 8 seconds of spotting my movements to take some pictures  EVERY   SINGLE   MARINE  in this group made eye contact with me, 3 changed the position of their weapon, their formation changed and tightened and the young Marine (front and center) put his finger on the trigger.  Ready, willing and able.  Thank you.
