The purpose of this page is to challenge me to open my eyes and truly see the world which surrounds me. So often we trudge though our daily routine, too busy or preoccupied to notice the little miracles happening all around us. Change of Command for 1st Battalion 12th Marine Regiment 3rd Marine Division and our good friends, the Charney family.  The 1/12 is an artillery battalion comprised of four firing batteries and one Headquarters battery which provides direct support to the 3rd Marine Division in times of conflict.  They get to play with.... I mean utilize the M777 lightweight howitzer which has a maximum effective range of 30km.  This last piece of information was provided by my boys, of course.  
It was a true honor to be invited to be a part of this time honored tradition and special day for an amazingly supportive military family.  The Cutters will greatly miss having the Charneys on island with us.
