The purpose of this page is to challenge me to open my eyes and truly see the world which surrounds me. So often we trudge though our daily routine, too busy or preoccupied to notice the little miracles happening all around us. I hope to capture, through the lens of a camera, glimpses of my sometimes mundane but glorious little world. I will attempt to post one snapshot each day to share with you. Enjoy!

This household didn't get the memo: fish need to come down now.  Per Japanese tradition, these fish windsocks are flown in honor of our children.  More specifically, the 3rd day of the 3rd month is Girls Day and the 5th day of the 5th month is Boys Day.  The top flags represent the parents and then any others represent the child(ren) of the sex on their designated day.  Because of the two holidays and the Japanese influence in this area there are many beautiful designs and unique windsocks available in the local stores.  I wonder if there is a Fish Day?
